MODIFIED README FILE FOR VERSION 2 WABCON is a logging program designed for real time input during WAB contests or for retrospective input after the contest. It outputs a text file called conlog.txt which can be emailed to the contest manager. On entering the program you are presented with a summary page for entrants details etc, be sure to allow time to fill this in before the contest starts. On clicking "BEGIN" you will enter the QSO input page where you can first of all choose between real time or retrospective input. You can then enter the QSO details. - The date and time will be entered automatically if in real time mode. - If in retrospective mode enter the date for the first contact and the time for each contact. - The freq or band need only be entered for the first QSO but can be changed if required. - The report sent defaults to 59 but can be changed if required. - The serial number sent is incremented automatically. - The report and serial number received are in a single field eg '59001'. - The notes field could be used for the square activated for mobile entries otherwise may be left blank. Use the "TAB" key to move between fields. At the end of each QSO it is esential to click on "ENTER cONTACT" when the details of the QSo will be transfered to the second line and to memory. Duplicate qSO's are checked for automatically when clicking "ENTER CONTACT" but may be checked for immediately after entering the "sTATION" by clicking on "DUP TEST". An abreviated version of the log so far is shown in the large box at the bottom of the screen. At the end of the contest it is essential to click on the "FINISHED, Save File" button, nothing will be saved to the file until you do this.
